What the Gītā gives children and adults

Many children grow up far from the places their families came from, and their days are busy and full of distraction. The Gītā helps them stay steady and understand themselves, and it gives them a story about who they are.

Character that lasts

Children learn honesty, courage, patience, and humility through Arjuna's doubts and Krishna's counsel, and through stories they end up retelling at the dinner table.

Knowing their heritage

Children learn shlokas by heart and finally understand the festivals they celebrate, which makes them more confident about where they come from.

Clarity for adult life

For adults, the Gītā is a practical guide to duty, decisions, and peace of mind. Study it verse by verse and it starts helping with whatever is in front of you.

How a class goes

Every children's class is live, and it follows the same simple rhythm each week.

How our online classes work →

  1. A story

Aditi Dasi opens with a story from the Gītā, the Mahābhārata, or the lives of great devotees, and asks the children questions along the way.

  2. A verse

The group learns one shloka line by line. They chant it, repeat it, go through each word, and chant it again.

  3. A question for the week

Class ends with one practical question, such as which verse to remember when they feel nervous, and something small to practise before the next class.

न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते ।तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्धः कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥

na hi jñānena sadṛśaṁ pavitram iha vidyatetat svayaṁ yoga-saṁsiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati

“In this world, there is nothing so sublime and pure as transcendental knowledge. Such knowledge is the mature fruit of all mysticism. And one who has become accomplished in the practice of devotional service enjoys this knowledge within himself in due course of time.”

More questions on the FAQ page →

Does my child need to know Hindi or Sanskrit?

Children's classes are taught in English, so no background is needed. Sanskrit shlokas are learned gradually, with pronunciation guidance and meanings, and that part becomes one of the joys.

How do online classes work?

Classes are live on Google Meet in small groups, on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on weekends. You'll receive your class link after registering. All your child needs is a device, a notebook, and a quiet corner.

Is the first class really free?

Yes. We want you to meet Aditi Dasi and experience a class before you enroll. There is no charge and no obligation for your first class.

What if we miss a week?

Weddings, travel, and exams sometimes get in the way, and that is fine. Let us know and Aditi Dasi will help your child catch up in the next class, and your monthly enrollment simply continues.
